One of the main benefits of using PEX pipe versus rigid pipe is its flexibility. PEX can often maneuver around corners without the use of elbows or other additional fittings. This reduces the number of connection points, lowers material cost and minimizes potential leaks.
PEX tubing is more flexible than traditional plastic plumbing lines and requires fewer joints. The weather and humidity-resistant connections don't require glue, torches, gauges, or intricate fittings to install that might break down with use.
With PEX, the pipe fits around the outside of the fitting so the internal diameter of the pipe is reduced at each fitting even when “full flow” expansion fittings are used. Depending on the fitting used, this can reduce the internal diameter of a ½” pipe by 21% to 35%.
PEXC and PERT pipes offered by System KAN‑therm Push(are made in the latest 5L technology (five-layer). The 5L five-layer construction guarantees the highest protection of the EVOH anti-diffusion coating, by placing it inside the pipe wall. Functioning and undamaged EVOH coating effectively protects the installation from oxygen ingress and corrosion. The EVOH anti-diffusion coating (ethyl vinyl alcohol) meets the requirements of DIN 4726. Pipes are also supplied with thermal insulation to avoid wasting valuable time on the construction site lagging the pipeline.
